Wesley Christian Preschool is a
ministry
of Wesley United Methodist Church. We are dedicated
to the
spiritual,
physical, and mental development of all children in our care and to helping
them realize their fullest potential in an
environment of Christian love and
values. We are committed to providing the
children with a Christian foundation
based on the teachings of the Bible and security of
knowing that they are loved
as children of God. We offer enrollment to all children regardless of
race,
religion, sex, or national origin.
About
the Preschool
Wesley
Christian Preschool is licensed by the State of
Texas. Our preschool
offers a low student/teacher ratio to provide the most
individualized attention to each child.
The Preschool is open
Monday through Friday, with two, three and five day options for all ages. We
also offer a transitional kingergarten class for those children whose 5th birthday is after Sept 1st.
Our preschool hours are 9:15
a.m. – 2:15
p.m. Monday
through Thursday, and Friday from 9:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. We
follow the McKinney
ISD
calendar with the exception of our start and end dates. Children are placed in
classes
based on their age as of September 1 of the
current school
year. Beginning
September 13th, 2010 we are adding before and after
school extended care, hours will be from 8:00-4:00 Monday through
Friday.
Our Curriculum
We
utilize
the "WEE
Learn" Christian-based curriculum
that uses developmentally
appropriate
activities to stimulate the children’s
curiosity
and desire to
learn with an emphasis on instilling Christian
values. Our
preschool
offers a low student/teacher ratio to provide the
most
individualized attention to each
child. We offer a weekly Spanish class for the three year old
through TK programs. We
also
offer a weekly music/movement class for all ages. We have chapel once a
week for ages 3 - TK.
Our Staff
Our
preschool staff is committed to providing the best quality care and
education
to all children. All
teachers and church employees have had background checks and FBI fingerprinting. Teachers
are required to get 15 hours
of child care training per year, and are asked to be CPR/First
Aid certified. All staff have had
experience working with children and have a desire to
work in the Christian
preschool environment.
We have low ratios with two staff members per classroom. Staff
meetings and training sessions are held on Fridays
after school is released.
Our
staff gathers each morning for devotion and prayer before
the school day begins, sharing their joys and concerns.
Summer and Registration Information
Registration for the 2010/2011 preschool year is continuing as space allows
An $85 non- refundable registration fee per child is required upon
enrollment. Classes offered for 2-5 year olds (must be that
age by Sept
1st to enroll in respective age classroom). Please stop by the
preschool office between 9:00-3:00 for a registration packet, tour and pricing information. New
families are welcome. Sibling and church discounts.
Summer programs -2 Two week sessions available. Registration continues as space allows.
June 21-July 2 MWF 9:15-1:15 $175 (includes a $50 registration fee).
July 5- July 16 MWF 9:15-2:15 $175(includeds a $50 registration fee).
Both sessions - $350. $20 discount if both sessions paid in full by May 28th.
Preschool hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:15-2:15 and Fridays, 9:15-12:45.
Before and after school extended care hours beginning Sept 13, 2010, 8:00-4:00.
The Wesley Christian Preschool board meets the second Tuesday of each month.
