Wesley Christian Preschool is a
ministry
of Wesley United Methodist Church. We are dedicated
to the
spiritual,
physical, and mental development of all children in our care and to helping
them realize their fullest potential in an
environment of Christian love and
values. We are committed to providing the
children with a Christian foundation
based on the teachings of the Bible and security of
knowing that they are loved
as children of God. We offer enrollment to all children regardless of
race,
religion, sex, or national origin.
About
the Preschool
Wesley
Christian Preschool is licensed by the State of
Texas. Our preschool
offers a low student/teacher ratio to provide the most
individualized attention to each child.
We operate
Monday through Friday, with two, three and five day options for all ages. We
also offer a transitional kingergarten class for those children whose 5th birthday is after Sept 1st.
Our preschool hours are 9:15
a.m. – 2:15
p.m. Monday
through Thursday, and Friday from 9:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. We
follow the McKinney
ISD
calendar with the exception of our start and end dates. Children are placed in
classes
based on their age as of September 1 of the
current school
year.
Our Curriculum
We
utilize
the "WEE
Learn" Christian-based curriculum
that uses developmentally
appropriate
activities to stimulate the children’s
curiosity
and desire to
learn with an emphasis on instilling Christian
values. Our
preschool
offers a low student/teacher ratio to provide the
most
individualized attention to each
child. We offer a weekly Spanish class for the three year old
through TK programs. We
also
offer a weekly music/movement class for all ages. We have chapel once a
week for ages 3 - TK.
Our Staff
Our
preschool staff is committed to providing the best quality care and
education
to all children. All
teachers and church employees have had background checks. Teachers
are required to get 15 hours
of child care training per year, and are asked to be CPR/First
Aid certified. All staff have had
experience working with children and have a desire to
work in the Christian
preschool environment.
We have low ratios with two staff members per classroom. Staff
meetings and training sessions are held on Fridays
after school is released.
Out
staff gathers each morning for devotion and prayer before
the school day begins, sharing their joys and concerns.
News
The
preschool is offering a summer session for children
ages 2-5 (by Sept 1st.) The session begins June 29th and runs every MWF
9:30-12:30 through July 31st. $50 registration fee required to
enroll. Information available in the preschool office. Weekly
Christian themes and fun indoor/outdoor activities for
your child.
Registration for the fall program
continues. An $85 non- refundable registration fee is required upon
enrollment. Classes offered for 2-5 year olds (must be that
age by Sept
1st to enroll in respective age classroom). First day of school is Sept
8th. Please stop by the
preschool office between 9:00-3:00 for a registration packet. New
families welcome. Sibling discounts.
Preschool hours: Monday-Thursday 9:15-2:15 and Fridays 9:15-12:45.
Wesley Christian Preschool board meets the second Tuesday of each month.
