Todays Verse

Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? - John 11:25-26 ESV

Prayer Ministry

My house will be called a house of prayer . . . Matthew 21:13a

“How blest are they who know their need of God; the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.”  Matt. 5:3

Prayer is the foundation of everything that is done to the Glory of God at Wesley. Worship, programs, ministries, missions are all prayed for by the Body of Christ lived out at Wesley. Each meeting and each event is soaked in prayer.

Prayer is the primary avenue for each person to build a growing relationship with God as well as a corporate relationship between God and our Wesley family. “Being transformed into [God’s] likeness with ever increasing glory……” 2 Corinthians 3:18b

As Christians we are all a part of God’s family, related to one another through the waters of baptism. And being a Christian means we must love those God loves as God love them, even when we do not agree with them.

The mission of the prayer ministry at Wesley is to facilitate this unique love of God, of one another, of self, and of people who yet do not know Christ as Savior through:

  • Praying together
  • Learning how to pray the word of God
  • Prayer vigils

Prayers for those who are ill, in need, disenfranchised, lonely, and in prisons of our own making or prisons made by the laws of the land.

  • Offering praise and thanksgiving for God’s Word
  • Acknowledging our own brokenness which puts us in a position to be a part of God’s great and coming kingdom
  • Joining God in what god is already doing in McKinney, in the marketplace, and in the world
  • Studying prayer
  • Participating in corporate prayer during worship times
  • Participating in the National Day of Prayer

Come to the Living Waters, experience God’s grace, mercy, wisdom, knowledge, and love; meditate upon God’s Word; grow in your relationship with God!

Fellowship Ministry

We minister to the church family and guests through social events including food preparation, serving, and clean up, providing an avenue for fellowship in the name of Jesus.

Fellowship Fellowship

Interesting Facts:

  • This team prepares or coordinates 8 to 10 Sunday Lunch Bunches (SLB) a year, and are typically held following the 10:30 service on Sunday mornings.
  • The Fellowship Team assists other groups with their large meals, including Vacation Bible School and the youth Mexico Mission fundraiser.
  • International menus; Mexican, Italian & Traditional to name a few.
  • It takes 6-8 large turkeys, 10 large pans of stuffing and a whole lot of potatoes to feed the 225-250 people who attend Wesley’s Christmas dinner.

In Touch Ministry

Webster’s Dictionary defines Seniors as, “Older, of higher rank, or longer service”.

Our mission is that every Senior will know he or she is vital to our church family or an active member. We place weekly phone calls to chat and check for special needs. We coordinate special needs (transportation, Pastor visits, a meal) and we accompany the Pastor for monthly visits to serve Communion.

LibraryOur Library is open when the church building is open. It is not manned by staff but materials may be used or borrowed at any time. A self-checkout book is available. Also a catalog of books listed by Title, Author, and Subject are available that indicate where the book is located on the shelf.  Books are loaned for three weeks.

Our Ministry Goal is to acquire Christian books that enrich the lives of our children, youth, teens, and young adults.  Donated books and special gifts, honorariums, and memorials are welcome.
